Personal Fitness Training in the Eastbourne Area

If you are looking for affordable personal fitness training in the Eastbourne area - look no further!  I can help you achieve your goals with tailored training plans.

The main areas of fitness I concentrate on are:

  • Strength and weight training to increase muscle mass and power
  • resistance training and core strength training
  • cardio fitness
  • overall body conditioning and muscle tone
  • weight loss and weight management
  • combined with nutrition plans and diet advice and
  • behaviour modification which I consider essential for overall health and Fitness.

My fitness training system involves personal client appraisal and fitness assessment and discussion on specific client goals. I then produce a personalised programme of exercise/nutrition which is implemented to meet these goals as quickly as possible. My fitness training programmes apply to both males and females and are ‘tailored’ accordingly.

Programmes to rapidly help you increase your strength and muscle power or reduce your weight and tone your body. Boosting your fitness, improving your lifestyle and overall confidence.

Feel the energy, look and feel good!

Personal Fitness Training - "One to One"

This is the area of fitness training where I carry out a large part of my work with clients both males and females. The first step is always a "one to one " meeting with a client to discuss personal goals and time-frames. Normally, I carry out a fitness assessment to determine the current level of fitness of the client and the results are used as a benchmark. The client also understands how they compare against the 'norm' for age and sex. I then devise a written programme to meet these goals and begin personal training with the client. Normally, a nutritional programme is also required together with some behavioural changes!

High levels of guidance and motivation are required in personal training and assistance is provided on a continuous basis.

Group Fitness Training or "Buddy Up" with a friend

Sometimes you may not wish to train alone but with a friend. Sometimes there is an advantage in 'buddying up' because it adds a bit of competition to your workout!! Nothing like seeing who trains hardest or achieves most from good exercise and diet.

The process is the same as 'one to one' personal training and you get exactly the same attention from me.
The advantage for you is that if you choose to do personal training together then, normally I can work out an hourly price that is less expensive for you both. Do feel free to dicuss this in more detail with me.

Fitness Assessments

A proper fitness test before starting a training programme can establish a ‘benchmark’ and guide so then the correct individual fitness workout/programme can be put together. Further regular tests will show changes and other areas where assistance can be given such as diet and lifestyle.

Many tests have been created over the years and can be used to measure specific fitness factors. If you are about to start a training programme it makes sense to have a fitness assessment and keep a record of your level of fitness when you start - you can also compare your current level of fitness with the norm for your age and sex - can be a bit of a shock!

Have regular assessments every few weeks to track improvements in your fitness -  nothing like some real facts and figures for real motivation and to see how you are getting fitter.

PowerLifting and Strongman

Both Powerlifting and Strongman are becoming more and more popular with both males and females. Both complement work outs at the gym but add an extra dimension to training. If you have never felt the "buzz" and rush of adrenaline that competing can give you......!

I have put a section on both of these sports on a separate page so have a read and talk to me if you are interested in having a go. May be the best thing you have ever done! - powerlifting.

ABOUT REPS - Register of Exercise Professionals

Launched in 2002, REPs is an independent, public register which recognises the qualifications and expertise of health-enhancing exercise instructors in the UK. REPs provides a system of regulation for instructors and trainers to ensure that they meet the health and fitness industry’s agreed National Occupational Standards.

REPs provides assurance and confidence to the public and employers that all professionals on the Register are appropriately qualified and have the knowledge, competence and skills to perform their role effectively.

REPs was developed to protect the public from ‘cowboy trainers’ who do not hold appropriate qualifications. As well as protecting the public, REPs was also established to recognise the qualifications and skills of exercise professionals.
